SAMUEL TEMPLIN’S WILL

I Samuel Templin do make and publish this my last Will and Testament, hereby revoking and making void all Wills by me ever made at any other time namely, as soon as I am dead so much of my personal property, as will pay all my just debts of every kind is to be sold on a credit of twelve months and the money to be paid in the discharge of my just debts and my land is to be divided equal between two of my sons and they are to pay to the other two children equal to it value so as to make four equal and my slaves to be equally divided between the four after Benjamin my son get Mose and Jinny is to stay with the one of my heirs that gets the home place at her value and be well taken care of as long as she lives and if my heirs cannot agree on the value of the land and slaves they are to choose five good men to value the land and slaves or divided the same so as to make the four heirs equal and all other moneys and property to be equally divided among the four. Lastly – I appoint James Mauk and Benjamin F. Templin my Executors to this my last Will and Testament in witness whereof I subscribe my name and affix my seal this 27th of December 1852.
