Carl Franklin Templin, 59, Stanton, Ky., formerly of Watseka, died Thursday night in the Veterans Administration Hospital, Louisville, Ky., following an illness of several years.


Mr. Templin was born March 30, 1900 in Watseka, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul J. Templin. He was married to the former Margaret Edwards on May 22, 1922. They were divorced in 1937.


Surviving are a son, Carl Lee, Watseka, and a daughter, Mrs. Robert Hagan, Sheldon; seven grandchildren; brothers, Edward of Chillicothe, Ohio; Paul E. of Phoenix, Ariz., and Raymond of Stanley, Kan.; sisters, Mrs. Ray Litteral of Stanton, Ky., Mrs. Pauline Redman of Watseka and Mrs. Clay Mason of Watseka.


Mr. Templin spent his childhood in Watseka, where he attended schools. He also worked in Watseka as a mechanic.


The body was brought to the Segur Funeral Home, where services were held at 1 p.m. Sunday, the Rev. Everett Chapman, pastor of the Friends Church, officiating. Burial was in the GAR cemetery.


Mr. Templin served in the Navy during World War I and in the Army during World War II. The American Legion of Watseka conducted rites at the grave.
