Carey Templin, 78,
uncle of L. E. Templin, of this city, died Thursday at his home in Berne from hardening of the arteries and complications following an illness
of several years. He had been bedfast since Sunday.
The decedent was born
Nov. 20, 1867,
in Randolph county, a son of Sanford H. and Judith M. Faulkner Templin. His
marriage Nov. 20, 1909,
west of Berne, was to Rosanna Amstutz, who survived. The
couple had resided in Berne the past 20 years.
Mrs. Templin is reported
to be quite ill.
Surviving besides the
widow are two sons, Roswell M. Templin, of Portland, and Rev. Clinton H. Templin, of Ashley; two
daughters, Mrs. Clifton Amstutz and Mrs. Homer Inniger, both of Berne; nine
grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A brother, George Templin, and a sister
Funeral services will
be held at Saturday
at the First Missionary church in Berne of which
Mr. Templin was a member, in charge of Rev. C. H. Wiederkehr. Burial will be in
the I. O. O. F. cemetery in Pennville.
The body was taken
this afternoon from the Yager funeral home at Berne to the west entrance of the church, which is next to the residence,
and will remain there until the funeral hour.
