Beulah Helen Templin, daughter of Guy and Ethel (Harris) McNamar was born February 27, 1914 on a farm south of Wakita. She attended the Wakita schools, graduating with the Class of 1932. On March 25, 1934, Beulah was united in marriage with Ted Templin and to this union four sons were born, Cleo, Max, Dean and Jim. She and Ted made their home on a farm north of Wakita where they raised their family. Ted passed away on September 10, 1968 and in 1969 Beulah went to work for the Community Health Center on the dietary staff, retiring in 1983. She was an active member of the United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. Beulah was also active in CROWN, Democrat Women, Eureka Club, Goodwill E.H.U. Group, Senior Citizens Center and the Wakita Alumni Historian. In 1988, she was chosen Woman of the Year by the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. Beulah participated as a member of the town board for seven years and served as Mayor of Wakita for two and a half years. On October 26, 1992, Beulah passed away at the Caldwell Hospital.


She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Ella Marie, Brothers, Roy, Lester and Frank, granddaughter, Diana Templin and her husband, Ted. She will be deeply missed by her four sons, Cleo and his wife, Renate of Norman, Ok., Max and his wife, Carolynn of Federal Way, Wa., Dean and his wife, Erma of Wakita and Jim and his wife, Mark K. of Anthony, brother Darrel McNamar of Sun City, Az.

13 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
