Templin, Bennie M., a lifelong resident of Leeds, passed away on February 21, 2002 after a brief illness.


She was named “Bennie” after her father, Benjamin Moore, a direct descendant of Dr. Hezekiah Balch Moor (the “e” was added by later descendants) who served with General Andrew Jackson and John Coffee and was awarded large land grants for his medical services which comprise most of Leeds today.


She is survived by her husband, Nathan Norris Templin; her sisters, Grace Moore, Mary Moore, Willye Henry Price and Nell Tucker; her brother, Theo Moore; sister-in-law, Eloise Deshazo Moore; several nieces and nephews; and her very special friends next door, Thomas and Aaron Manville.


Funeral services will be conducted at Kilgore Funeral Home, Leeds, at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 23, 2002 with burial following at Bold Springs Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m., Saturday. Kilgroe Funeral Home – Leeds is directing.
