Arnold Templin died of heart condition Feb. 20
Arnold Templin, 61, a
life long resident of the Gibbon Community, died at the Gaylord Hospital February 20. He had been hospitalized three days. Mr. Templin had
suffered from a heart condition for several years.
Funeral services were
held from St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Moltke Monday afternoon with Rev.
Erhard Roth officiating. Burial was in St. Peter’s Cemetery. Pall bearers were
Walter Weller, Arthur Podratz, Clarence Boeder, Herman Templin, Alvin Doering
and Oscar Podratz.
Arnold Henry William Templin was born in Moltke Township on March 4, 1897,
son of the late John Templin and wife Catherine nee Elling. He was united in
marriage to Elsie Luehrs in St. John’s Lutheran Church in Helen Township, near Glencoe, on October 6, 1932.
Following their marriage the couple farmed in Moltke Township until 1949 when they moved into their new home in Gibbon. Two sons
were born to them. One son, John, died on April 11, 1938, and Mrs. Templin passed away January
31, 1953. His parents,
five brothers, and one sister also preceded him in death.
Mr. Templin was a
life long member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church and served as Church Trustee. He had also served as a member of Dist.
75 School Board and was a director of German Mutual Storm Insurance Company.
He is survived by one
son, Lorin, at home; one brother, William, of Moltke, and three sisters, Mrs.
S. R. (Emma) Perry, Gibbon, and Miss Ann Templin and Mrs. Daniel (Helen)
Clifford of Minneapolis.
